Life is a Big Beautiful Box of Chocolates

***Disclaimer: This is a pretty personal entry, so if you don't want to dive deep, feel free to close this post and not read any further. You won't hurt my feelings.***

August and September blew by and I didn't post 1 single time. To start with we closed on the house at the end of July, although we didn't officially move out until the middle of August. So there was packing. Lots and lots of packing. We started out very organized and then as the move out date inched closer and closer we started to just throw everything into boxes. Lord help us when we find another house.

...yes, we still don't have a house. We made an offer on a house in our target area of town, but we couldn't reach an agreement with the seller that we both were comfortable with. So we are still looking.....and looking...and looking. I'm pretty sure our real estate agent might strangle me. How about we look at old houses, new construction, needs work, move in ready, in the city, out of the city, big yard, small yard, no yard. Yeah, I would strangle me too. I'm going to owe the hubs and the agent lots and lots of brewskis once we find a place. So that pretty much sums up August.

And then September hit. And it hit hard. We found out that I was pregnant, but in the same breath found out that this was not a normal pregnancy. My OB suspected either an early miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy, due to other factors that I won't go into on here. During the week or so when we were unsure about what was going on, there was nothing that could be done but to wait. We monitored my hormone levels, waited and agonized over the unkown. After speaking with my OB daily, they decided that I needed to go the ER so that we could finally get some answers quickly. Once I was there I had an ultrasound and discovered that the pregnancy was in fact ectopic and that I needed immediate surgery. The surgery and recovery went well. And we are definitely feeling blessed that my OB was able to perform the surgery, save my fallopian tube, and that I was not in an extreme emergency situation where the tube ruptured or could not be saved.

During the surgery, my doctor also discovered that I have a mild to moderate case of endometriosis. This was a bit of a shock, but after doing some research on the signs and symptoms I feel fairly certain that some of the unexplained pains I've suffered over the years have been directly related. I'm feeling blessed to now have the diagnosis so we can proceed with healing and be better prepared moving forward in terms of fertility. I have scheduled an appointment with a fertility specialist next month and look forward to learning more about what the future might hold. We are feeling optomistic. In the mean time, I'm turning to what I know best and that is trying to heal naturally with the help of essential oils and accupuncture. I truly believe that God has put all kinds of fantastic natural resources for us to use on this earth and that it is super important that we take advantage of them.

This is all a huge learning process for me and I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences. I have discovered how many friends, family members and friends of friends have gone through very similiar experiences, but don't talk openly about their struggles. It's something I feel we need to talk more about. I've learned in just the past month how comforting it is to hear other people's experiences. Life is a beautiful journey. Walking through it with friends makes it that much sweeter.
